ABOUT L-SHAPED LOFT CONVERSIONS

L-shaped loft conversions are suited to Victorian and Edwardian terrace houses with a two-storey rear extension which creates the L-shaped roof. This type of loft conversion involves two dormers connecting into a corner, with the larger dormer built into the main roof and the smaller dormer built into the roof of the rear extension. Internally dormers have vertical straight walls and a horizontal ceiling.

With an L-shaped loft conversion it’s possible to create a roof space which closely replicates the space and design of the first floor. Creating space for a medium sized double bedroom with en-suite plus storage options and a small double bedroom or family bathroom. This type of conversion is prefect for adding additional Velux windows to the front of the property to give more natural light and ventilation.

Most loft conversions can be constructed without gaining planning permission, as long as the design does not add more than 40 cubic metres to your home.

Estimated build time 7-8 weeks.
