ABOUT VELUX LOFT CONVERSIONS

Velux loft conversions are also referred to as roof light conversions. This is a straightforward loft conversion for lofts that already offer enough space for purpose. With this type of conversion, the roofline is unaltered, as the Velux window are installed along the existing angle of the roof. This helps to ensure that they let in a generous amount of natural light, so that the converted loft space is airy and bright.

Planning permission is not generally required for this work as it falls under the category of permitted development. This is because a Velux loft conversion does not require the loft to be extended beyond the line of the original roof. Also, since no large alterations need to be made to the roof, the cost of the conversion generally remains lower and roof lights can be fitted quickly and easily.
